Our Story

Working Together to make Cambridge Neighbourhood Table a reality

2018

The idea behind Cambridge Neighbourhood Table began in 2018 by two community minded and committed Cambridge Residents – Keith Rivers and Dan Clements – members of Citizens for Cambridge. They connected with the Cambridge Neighbourhood Organizations, and it was decided that Kinbridge had the capacity to lead.

2019

A steering committee was created to help guide the program.

Funding was received from the City of Cambridge, the Region of Waterloo, and the United Way.

2020

The first location for CNT was set to launch in May 2020 at Forward Church.

The pandemic delayed the start, and the program was paused until we were able to safely gather in person.

2023

The first site in Galt was launched in May at Forward Church.

The second sites in Preston launched in November, in partnership with the Freedom Centre, Langs and Preston Heights Community Group.

Plan to launch 3 additional sites and continue to operate in Galt and Preston.

And Beyond!

Continue to run 5 nights a week around the city of Cambridge, creating an environment where people can share conversations and enjoy a meal together, encouraging meaningful interactions and connections among community members.

Our mandate . . .

  • be a welcoming, supportive and hopeful environment for those who are struggling financially
  • build a sense of belonging within their neighbourhood
  • combat isolation and loneliness
  • bring local agencies together to support individuals
  • support citizens transitioning away from reliance on shelters
  • provide an opportunity for physical activity to improve wellness and assist in developing healthy lifestyles with direct community
  • develop neighbourhood and workplace integration pathways

Thank you to our Community Funders

Thank you to our community partners
